About Prayer
Prayer is a powerful tool for bringing healing and wholeness into our lives. It has been scientifically researched and reported to improve outcomes in human as well as nonhuman species.
Our Prayer Circle
Our weekly service of praying for others is offered free of charge in a multi-faith, non-denominational format where we bring the body, mind, emotions and spirit into a place where the power of the Divine can flow into any situation. We come together in Oneness to open ourselves as channels through which the natural power of healing can flow.
A list of first names only with a requested maximum of 3-4 per person is created on the first day of each month. First names can be emailed to wendeajowsey@gmail.com and will then be prayed for each week for the entire month.
We encourage anyone who wishes to join us in service to others to be part of our weekly sessions. A link for joining the online session on Monday evenings is in the ticket emailed to you when you register for the session.
Types of Prayer
Prayer can be in accordance with a formula, such as the Rosary or the Great Invocation or it can be a relationship with the Infinite arising from our hearts and minds. It can be devotional, all about love or it can be asking for help, guidance, support, illumination or any manner of things. The habit of prayerfulness brings an inner calmness and joy to the practitioner.
Prayer can also be contemplative, whereby the words of a scripture or sacred text are considered through a meditative lens. This can lead to deep mystical states of beingness.
Benefits of Prayer
Prayer brings a feeling of closeness and support. It calls the Infinite towards us, calling for what is required. Prayers are always received by the Infinite; it is then a question of our own personal karma as to whether or not we receive the answer to our prayers that at this level of awareness we feel we need.
Through prayer, we expand our sense of hope and possibility. We wake up as a cell in the Universal body.
How to Pray
One can have a formal time of the day, such as daybreak or bedtime in which one establishes a prayer ritual. Or one can pray during the day at any time. It can be long or short, and is best practised in a heartfelt manner, with a cornerstone of gratitude and love.
Testimonials
“A beautiful soul who needed healing is now glowing with health and strength emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Thank you to all who prayed for her.”
“A lady whose name I put on the prayer list HAS GOT A JOB. It was in the most unusual circumstance: its a contract role that was in the process of being awarded to someone else, when something mysterious happened in the middle and it was suddenly awarded to my dear friend, who was deeply concerned about her job prospects as a mature person. Prayer works.”
